In partnership with John Robertson Architects, we’re proud to present our WELL Standard project for Skanska. This entirely agile working space resulted from over a year of dedicated work by all involved to create a truly stunning workplace.
The space features sit-stand hot desk workstations, a conference centre, various meeting room options, breakout spaces, focus areas and dedicated wellbeing rooms.
Sourcing suppliers with good environmental credentials was at the heart of this project. As part of our tender response, we performed a rigorous screening process to identify which manufacturers conformed to the WELL standard for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and formaldehyde.
Having secured the project based on best overall response and value, we were then able to find further savings of circa £40,000 to help our client reach their budget goals. It’s rare for any provider to achieve savings after winning a competitive tender, but this sort of effort and transparency helps us to achieve our Mission of being the most trusted supplier of furniture…
Further, we introduced a creative budget strategy, placing orders before the end of the prior calendar year to avoid annual price increases of 3-7%, while honouring the architect’s original product selection and design intent.
What We Did
Who We Worked With
It was a pleasure working with the Skanska’s project leader Nick Baker; his dedication, knowledge and understanding throughout the process was invaluable. Because Skanska was also the Main Contractor, we also collaborated with their construction, project management and IT teams.
Special thanks also to the wonderful JRA team, who developed the original concept and designs. They remained closely supportive throughout all the project phases. We also partnered with Waste To Wonder who removed all of Skanska’s existing furniture from Aldersgate Street, for repurposing in Romanian schools. We’re always delighted if we can make the world a better place and reduce our environmental impact.
Swedish manufacturer Kinnarps excel in environmental practises and were a natural partner for this project - some of their furniture is so sustainable it’s edible!

What our client said:
Interion were the perfect partner to furnish our new London office. From the outset they were focused entirely on our needs as a client and put us at the centre of everything. Both Dave and Steve provided an exceptional level of knowledge, support and enthusiasm. Steve in particular was endlessly flexible and patient during a very challenging installation and the end result is simply fantastic. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with them again.
